Livingston Youth Baseball Association, Inc. (LYBA) is incorporated under the Texas Non-Profit Corporation Act. Its purpose is to foster amateur sports competition within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Membership of the organization consists of parents, step-parents, or legal guardians of children who: are identified on the child’s registration form as a parent, step-parent or legal guardian; live within the LYBA franchise; are registered to play in the LYBA and have paid the annual registration fee.
A Competition Committee is comprised of no less than three Board members, appointed by the President. The Competition Committee conducts the annual Skills Day, orientation for the Managers and Coaches of each league, conducts the draft of each league, conducts the All-Star selection meeting and hears appeals of actions taken on the playing field. Team Managers, Coaches and Umpires are under the direction of the Competition Committee.
All-Stars are elected by a majority vote of head coaches within each division. The election is by secret ballot and results are announced only after the completion of each league’s end-of-season tournament. The number of All-Stars will be set by the Board, but may not exceed the maximum number allowed by Nations. The Coach and First Assistant Coach shall be nominated by the league coaches and approved by the Board by closed ballot at a meeting of the Board following the election of All-Stars.
